Strawberry jam!
I can’t believe I haven’t posted these pictures yet!
We love strawberry season. I think we look forward to it more than Christmas! No joke!
And we love to make strawberry jam. {And we really love to eat it!}
Parleigh getting a quick nap on the way out to Donna’s house. It was a busy morning. We got Parker on the bus around 11 o’clock, went and picked the strawberries. Then we went to the park to eat lunch, headed to the mall to do some quick shopping. We got home just in time to pick Parker up from the bus so we could head out to make jam. No wonder she was tuckered out!
Everybody helps! I think this was Ben’s first year of “not being able to sneak outside and find manly things to do!” Ha!
First up: Preston gets to “mash” the berries.
Parker gets a turn too! Where’s the lid, boy?
Ben doesn’t want to be left out. Okay, he doesn’t look to amused, does he?
Paisley is the “official” stirrer. And she is a liiiiiiiittle excited!
Mashed strawberries. 15 cups to be exact!
And all those strawberries need some sugar! {7 cups in each bowl!}
How could you not love this fruit? So gorgeous. Smells sooo sweet! And so good for you?
Alas, the fruit of our labor. Not bad for one afternoon!
And the best part? The “left over” warm jam on a piece of white toast with butter.
H-E-A-V-E-N!!!
I could eat a whole jar by myself!!!
