That’s how we roll!

***********************************

Instead of going “over the top” with a dessert, and knowing that Ben was working and I didn’t want to stress out about running out of time today, I went the “classic” route for the dessert auction with chocolate chip cookies. {I used milk chocolate chips.} And, instead of auctioning off a plate of oversized cookies for someone to keep for themselves, I packaged the cookies (2) to a bag and priced them at $5. So, in all, they sold for $40. Not too bad! I wish I would have doubled the recipe and sold more of them! And in case you are wondering, the dessert auction is held to raise money for our youth {boys and girls} to go camp this summer. In all, they raised $1650! {correct me if I’m wrong!} I think that’s a new record!

{Talents through Time}

This last Tuesday our Relief Society celebrated the 170th birthday if its organization. We decided to have a talent show, not only displaying “our” talents, but the talents of Relief Society sisters through the ages. Talents Through Time was the theme.
It was nice to be overseeing the activity as opposed to doing the whole activity! SO NICE! I know I was a lot less stressed!
It was a fun night. It drives me crazy when we put so much time and effort into planning activities and less than half of the sisters show up. ERG! I know, I know….people are busy, life is crazy, bla bla bla….but it’s ONE night! And we feed you food! Lots and lots and lots of food! And you get to talk to other women…without being interrupted! {By your children at least!}
Off my soapbox. I promise! Cause that’s not my point! I promise. My point is: we had a wonderful night. Annndd…..I didn’t share any talents of my own. Come on, the only talent I could think of was to recite the counties of Idaho, in alphabetical order. {If that’s not talent, I don’t know what is!} But, I chickened out. Maybe next time. Maybe next time!
We had a potato bar and salad bar! Super easy, and WAY delish!

My friend, Beth, who is on the planning committee brought all this amazing vintage stuff. She rocks! And now, I the proud owner of the two windows and the door! {I just need to decide where to put them! I am stoked!}

What an amazing heritage we have! I am so blessed to be a part of this great society of women!

Temple Trip

Last weekend was our Stake Temple trip.  There was also a Stake Primary Temple trip planned during the time that most of the parents would be attending the temple. We thought it would be important for the children to attend. I am ashamed to say that we haven’t taken the kids up to the temple in a long time. We always make the excuse that it’s too far away, and talk ourselves out of making the trip. This was the perfect opportunity to just go and show the kids the importance of the temple in our lives.
Let me just say, the traffic was a.maze.ing. As in, there wasn’t any! Going there AND back! The kids did a.maze.ing. Going there and back. Parleigh did get fussy the last 2 hours, but other than that it wasn’t bad at all! The weather was a.maze.ing. {Needless to say…our trip was a.maze.ing!! Including the burrito we had a Baja Fresh! A.MAZE.ING! okay. okay. I’ll stop!}
