Cookie Monster

This girl has a sweet tooth. She loves her some cookies. And candy. And treats. I try to limit her intake of sweet treats, but heaven help me, sometimes it’s just nicer to eat dinner in peace, and let her eat dessert first!

Can you say mess-y? Seriously! She  finds a way to make a complete mess every.single.time.

We celebrated Cinco De Mayo by eating chicken tacos, drinking Jarritos, and eating cookies that looked like they had refried beans and queso on it. {Or so Ben said. They were brownie cookies with marshmallow cream and fudge frosting. Not intended to have anything to do with Cinco De Mayo. They just looked yummy! And they were!}

Maybe Parleigh thought she was eating “refried beans”?

That’s How We Roll: Day 9

Parleigh is finally coming out of her shell. At home, she is a spunky/silly/sweet baby girl. Around anyone else, she has been clingy/shy.
I don’t know if it’s because she’s getting “older.” I don’t know if it’s because she’s no longer nursing and doesn’t feel so attached to me.
Whatever it is, I am so glad others are getting to see her little personality.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice. That’s how Parleigh rolls!

Baldy!

My husband has a LOT of hair. Thick, coarse, dark hair. Imagine my surprise, and excitement when he said he wanted to donated to St. Baldricks. What is St. Baldricks, you ask? Wellllll…..The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. So, you donate money and then shave your head! :)

Ben’s friend, Levin, put together a team of fellow fireman {Bald Brotherhood} in the hopes of raising $1,000 to donate. I think they were able to raise around $700. And to top it off {literally} my husband shaved his head!

IMG_4882 (2)IMG_4884 (2)The “before picture. So, my husband doesn’t have a lot of hair to lose. But, this is the first time he’s EVER shaved his head! It was a pretty big deal! He almost felt like backing out!

The kids didn’t know what to think! Paisley was skeptical at first. Parleigh was a little freaked out!

I never thought I’d see the day that Ben would shave all his hair off. And really, it’s not that bad!

Gingerbread Houses

5 moms. 15 kids. We are quite the crowd! If we get together, it’s one.big.party!
This time, it was a gingerbread house party!
My kids were super excited all.day.long. to go to Easton and Mackay’s house. When we got there the kids were able to play while we got dinner ready. After we ate, it was decorating time.

Sherrie is a rock star for inviting us all over! Such a fun time for the kids and us moms!
We got home and the boys wanted to make sure we would hide the houses so Piper wouldn’t sneak into them and eat them while they slept. Sure enough, we hid them well enough and they were fully in tact when we woke up this morning. Until….after breakfast when we allowed the kids to attack them! What fun they had. I don’t know what’s more fun…decorating, demolishing, or eating them!

Even Parleigh got a piece of the fun! ♥
