Happy May!

I really thought April drug on waaayyy toooo looong! I was ready to see it pass! Now that May 1st has hit I feel like we are going to be super busy from here on out!! Our schedule is filling up way fast, and I am super excited for June to arrive, school to be out, and our days spent at Ocean Breeze!

We started May off right.

With some cupcakes!

My friend’s son had a birthday yesterday, and because I didn’t want to bombard him with cupcakes the day he gets a birthday cake, I decided to bombard him with cupcakes the day AFTER he got birthday cake. {Cause I’m cool like that!}

I asked his Mom what his favorite candy bar was, and to my delight {Yay!} she said Reese’s Peanut butter cups! {A boy after my own heart!}

I’ve made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting before. But nothing like this. I decided to add chocolate cream to the inside. Oh.my.lanta! That in and of itself was to die for. And then the peanut butter buttercream frosting. It was so smooth. And rich. And peanut buttery. SOO good! This was the first "decadent” cupcake I’ve enjoyed since I’ve started making cupcakes a year ago. And let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint!

Today was bea-u-tiful outside. The kids played in the yard from the time that Parker got home from school around 2:30 until we carried them into the bathtub at 6:45. They were fil-thy!

Parleigh loves to play outside. {Almost as she loves toothpaste. Almost!} Earlier this afternoon, the kids are playing in the backyard. I can hear their laughter filtering through the kitchen window. The laughter is cut short by Parleigh screaming, followed by Paisley screaming. I figure someone has been “kicked” by someone swinging {that’s been known to happen.} I rush outside, and I hear Parleigh’s screams coming from right over the fence. I start laughing {terrible mom, I know!} She has walked right into the mud. And she doesn’t like it one.single.bit! And she is screaming bloody murder! And she isn’t moving until I come and rescue her. Too funny!

Happy May 1st!

Did you remember to say rabbit rabbit rabbit?

{Parker did. And Preston sorta did. He said “Hop hop hop.” That’s close enough, right?}

  1. That is hilarious!!! Kortlen does the same thing when his daddy' leaves....cries hysterically, and is so emotional, he covers his mouth with his hand to stifle the screams, but it's just too funny!!!
