For a split second, I thought it would be nice to not have a huge party for Parleigh. You know, not plan anything and keep it simple. Just a split second. And then, I realized this would be the last 1st birthday I would ever have for my children. How could I not plan at least a semi-huge shin-dig? Once I decided on the color scheme, I got super excited to have it all come together!
The colors? Hot pink, lime green, and navy. And polka dots, lots and lots of polka dots!
A couple of weeks ago, Parleigh tried {dairy-free} ice cream for the first time, and couldn’t get enough of it! I don’t blame her, who doesn’t love ice cream? I couldn’t feed it to her fast enough. I thought it would be fun to have an ice cream sundae bar set up with a million yummy toppings!
Gummy bears, pretzel m&m’s, Reece's pieces, Oreos, thin mints, waffle cones, Reece's peanut butter cups, sixlets, Twix, chocolate covered pretzels, maraschino cherries, rainbow sprinkles, homemade chocolate syrup, homemade marshmallow syrup, caramel syrup, whipped topping. Yum!
Instead of making a cake, I made 3 ice cream cupcakes for the birthday girl. For party favors, each of the guests took home some bubblegum!
The birthday girl’s chair of honor. I am LOVING the polka dot balloons!
We picked up Papa Murphy’s pizza: there’s my keeping it simple! And I made a salad. It was super yummy. I used this dressing, and used what I had on hand, romaine lettuce, spinach, red peppers, strawberries, blueberries, and walnuts. Yummm!
That’s about it. I was able to reuse some of the streamers from Paisley pink elephant birthday party, some paper lanterns from Preston’s water party, and ordered some things from Polka Dot Market. I went to Michaels to find paper, and in their dollar bins they had the cute little frames: in the perfect colors! I found glass jars at the Dollar store. Score! We had such a fun time celebrating the birthday girl’s special day! More pictures of the party coming up next!!
Seriously. THE best mom in the world!!! LOVE IT!!!
