I’ve been a little non-motivated to write in my little corner of the blogosphere. Knowing, for one thing, that I needed to blog about my birthday {which is a HUGE cause for celebration} but not wanting to focus any attention on {myself}. Also, not that it matters, but not really sure if anybody ever reads this {even though I know YOU do, cause I see it in my Live Traffic Feed, but YOU never leave comments!} It’s been very un-motivating. So, leave me some comment {love}, will you? Some times that’s what a girl needs! ♥
So…I had a birthday. I can honestly say I didn’t know how old I was turning. I had to do the math. Over and over again. How can I not know how old I am? I mean—really?!? I’m not THAT old! But, alas, I am 28. And my motto for this year—Kate the Great is 28. And it’s going to be a GREAT year! Because I said so. And because Kate rhymes with great. And 28.
One of my {goals} for this year was to overcome my fear of skinny jeans. I am all about overcoming fears. {Making macarons, running a 1/2 marathon, skinny jeans. You know, normal things!} The night before my birthday, Ben and I went out. We were going to go to a movie, but it was sold out so we went shopping instead. Annnddd…I bought not only one, but two pairs of skinny jeans! And I wore them the next day, in public! {And I made macarons for Parleigh’s birthday party. Which I still need to perfect, but I’ve done 2 things…and it’s not even March yet!}
For my birthday, Robin took me out for a much needed girl’s day out! Tai food, Pedicures, and shopping. Best.Day.EVEERRR!! No, really. Best.Day.EVERRR!!! She spoiled me relentlessly. And, since I can’t deny anyone wanting to spend money on me, I enjoyed every second of it! I love Robin to pieces! How lucky I am to have such a fun, crazy, and awesome friend!
Sunday, my real birthday {you know how we Lineberry’s like to party all week long!}, we went to church, I the worst migraine I’ve ever had {or at least it felt like it!}. I won’t share the gory details, pretty boring. I was able to come home and take a nap! An uninterrupted nap! {Very well could have been the best present ever!} We then went out to Donna and Benjie’s for a yummy dinner and even yummier cake! Annnddd…..I took the plunge. I ate the chocolate ganache that was on top of the angel food cake, loved every bite of it, and let Parleigh eat some too! Annnndd….long story short, I’ve fed her dairy all week, and she seems fine! YAH!! {I’m just worried if I don’t contain myself, I won’t fit into those skinny jeans that I just bought!}
Funny story. The first present I opened, was a “trick”. Hence the look on Parker’s face! It was a “Tanks of WWII” or something like that. It’s for Parker. And he laughed and laughed and laughed! Every night when we read from in {because it’s his favorite book right now} I tell him, “This is the best present ever/this is the my favorite book,” he gets the biggest kick out of it! I love my boy! He is growing up way too fast, and losing too many teeth! Check out all the ones that have come in already, and all the missing ones. I need to get a picture of him doing the ‘Mater’ face!
Preston----stop trying to blow out my candles! Geez!! This is my birthday!
Parleigh’s first official taste of “dairy”. And the verdict?
……….Manna from heaven!
I got some awesome gifts {muffin pans, earrings, jewelry organizer, a super cute belt, yummy homemade chocolates, Buckle jeans, some adorable t-shirts, and a Nook Color!!!!.} But the best part about becoming another year older? Being surrounded by my family and friends. It feels good to feel so much love from the people that I care so much about!
So, thank you, for making my birthday the best one yet!
I read all of your posts and look forward to each new one. You are such an awesome girl/wife/mother/friend and I love seeing your family in pictures. Hi-Five to Robin for giving you such an awesome day - you definitely deserve it. Yes, please keep the pictures and posts coming. ;-)
