{I promise, if you survive to the end of this post, you get to see some super cute pictures of the most adorable 1 year old!}
It’s party time! We invited Mamaw and Papaw {Donna and Benjie}, Auntie Ester, Grandma Dot {Donna’s mom} and Granny {Benjie’s mom}, and the awesome Conner family to help us celebrate!
We were ready to eat! Bring out the pizza!
The party was literally on fire! The cardboard the pizza was baking on got the whole house pretty smoky! Cute Ester and Donna through the smoky haze….
So…where is the birthday girl? Fast asleep…..she started to get cranky about an hour before the party, so we laid her down. Good thing! She was exhausted and needed to be happy for the par-tay!
There’s our happy birthday girl! I just want to pinch those cheeks! There is NOTHING better in this world than rosy pink, tight, warm cheeks of a newly wakened baby.
It was now time for the ice cream sundaes! You would think the kids would “go crazy” but they were a lot more reserved than I would have been! It’s like an ice cream dream come true—all you can eat toppings without them being weighed and you having to pay per ounce!
Annnddd….this was all before we had cake and opened presents! WE know how to party!
Parleigh was a bit apprehensive at first. She’s very much at a “stranger anxiety” stage right now. Here we are, all crowded around her---giving her our full attention. She cried, until her older brother came to the rescue. Then she was okay!
We practiced with her earlier in the week---getting her used to blowing out the candle. She was mesmerized by the candle to say the least.
And then the fun part. Her first taste of frosting. And she loved it. {Who wouldn’t, right?}
It’s all fun and games, until Dad tries to clean up some of the frosting! Those are some real alligator tears!
Parleigh was mesmerized by the balloons. {Almost as much as I was! I couldn’t get over how cute they were. Really…..don’t they just make you happy? I love her face in this next picture—pure joy!
This little girl is always on the move. She didn’t mind the freezing temperatures outside, and the fact that she wasn’t wearing any shoes {bad parenting, I know!}.
Happy Birthday, Miss Parleigh. We love you oh so much! You bring so much joy and excitement into our family. We love your little personality and your sweet spirit!
