Parker and Preston have been anxiously awaiting a hunting trip with their father. Yesterday afternoon Ben took them into the woods to shoot some squirrels. It was a success! Ben said the boys were so excited when they scared up some squirrels. Ben had them go and search for them—and when Preston found the dead squirrel, he started “shucking and jiving”. {Picture him saying, “oh yeah! oh yeah! while dancing.}
When they came home, they brought the two dead squirrels into the house, which I immediately told them to take outside. Even coming from a home where it was normal to have my dad hunting all the time and bringing home wild game and it didn’t phase me at all, there was something about having two bushy tail squirrels in my kitchen. Plus, I think it traumatized Paisley who, at the moment, had been watching Bambi. Ha! The boys even helped Ben skin them, and they can’t wait to eat them. Yes, eat them. I will not be partaking. Oh, and as a side note, they are also excited to be able to keep the tails. {As long as they stay outside, I don’t care!}
This is the funniest story ever. I can so see those little guys hunting with there father. What a great journal entry. I love the pictures.
