While I may not be watching TV and eating bonbons all day, I may or may not overindulge in reading. I have always loved to read. With a lack of books on hand, and screaming kids demanding my attention at the library, I haven’t been able to read like I want to.
Until my birthday.
As you know, {or may not know} I got a NOOK from my wonderful husband. Not only do I have books available at my fingertips, but I synced it with Peggy’s NOOK, so I have her books {that she’s purchased and gotten for free} at my fingertips. {Thanks, Peggy! You are the BEST!}
Since my NOOK pretty much came with 108 books {Thanks, Peggy!}, I didn’t know where to begin. So Peggy recommended a few. {Zombies? Really?} And I have read a LOT.
It amazes me, that even with my increase in reading, I get a LOT more done around the house. Laundry doesn’t pile up as much. The dishes are put away. I have come to the conclusion, that I can reward myself with reading, if the housework is done. So, instead of wandering aimlessly around the house, putting off the inevitable, I rush to get everything done so I can sit back and read a couple of chapters! {How’s that for rewarding the good behavior?!}
This is what my NOOK looks like most of the time! I wish the battery lasted longer…but maybe it DOES last a long time, I just have been reading A LOT!
Wanna see what I’ve read since my birthday? Yes? No? Well, I’m going to tell you. Why?
Cause that’s how I roll!
And can I tell you, I never ever ever in a million years thought I would read a book about faeries. Let alone 3 books about faeries. And, I must say, as confused as I was, cause let’s face it, I don’t know ANYTHING about faeries, I enjoyed the books.
But, I guess, if I can read books about vampires and werewolves, I guess I can read books about faeries and zombies, right?
In case you were wondering, I think my favorite book out of these I’ve mentioned, was The Apothecary’s Daughter. It was really good!
Reading books. That’s how I roll!
You're so cute! You're my hero! I don't know how you read all the books you read and do everything else too!
ReplyDeleteI love to talk about books! I am a "kindle" girl myself, and have been really into dystopian novels. I have heard of the Apothecary's Daughter and may give that a try! I don't know if I am ready for Zombies! :) I need to let reading be a reward for me like you do, whenever I get really into a book I have a hard time putting it down, and my house suffers because of it! Thanks for the post!
