Navy F/A-18D crashes into apt. complex
We literally turned the TV on within minutes of it happening.Watching the footage on the screen, I turned to Ben and said, “I can only image what it was like on September 11th to watch the planes crashing, and not knowing what was going to happen next. The fear. The uncertainty. This is crazy!”
For those of you who know the area, this happened on the way to the oceanfront, off of Birdneck road. {Beth, the exit we would take to go to Ocean Breeze, instead of heading south, head north, and it was about 2 blocks up.}
My heart goes out to those whose life has been turned upside down in a matter of seconds. I am so grateful to the first responders who risked their lives in this tragedy!
So scary! And I'm basically going to COPY this post to my blog! Cause that's how I roll! You did such a good job! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo our headliner here was the people at Costco had to stay inside for around two hours because there was a standoff in the parking lot while the police were trying to apprehend two people wanted on warrants for drug charges. No joke. And I guess it doesn't even compare.
ReplyDeleteAnd on another side note...I remember all of those feelings around 9/11. I remember wondering if I was going to be able to fly home. And I couldn't for another 6 weeks. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved. So, so scary.
Matt and I were at work when we found out about this and were trying to see if we could tell where it happened. I'm glad you guys are safe, and what a scary thing to happen!
