Ride the Tide


This past weekend the Tide opened up. The Tide is the first light rail system in Virginia and marks the beginning of a new era for public transportation in Hampton Roads. We thought we would take the kids for a ride on it. We started at the “end of the line” and rode it all the way into downtown Norfolk to the mall where we had lunch and walked around a bit before heading back home. There was a line to get onto the train each way, and it was standing room only. But, I think the kids really enjoyed it and will always remember their first time on the train!

We really did have a lot of fun riding on the $318 million transit system! :)
