Vay-cay Part 3

They tried to sell us mushy crabs at the Sugar Shack in Nags Head. But we had a better plan. We returned those crabs and waited a couple days until we came back to Virginia Beach. Benji met a fisherman down at the docks and got a bushel of fresh crabs---straight from the crab pots. Ben cleaned them before boiling them…..so much better than picking through guts trying to pick out the meat! We had a crab feast! Such a fun tradition to have when Peggy comes to town!

You keep the crabs on ice until you are ready to cook them. Ben “woke” two of them up so we could see them “fight.” Then he had a heck of a time not getting attacked so he could clean it!

Special thanks to: Benji for obtaining the crabs from the dock.
Ben for cleaning and cooking the crabs.
Donna for letting us invade her house and stink it up with crabs!

  1. Well, I have to say, I'm not terribly jealous. I'm not a huge fan of crab, as you know. But it looked like you guys tore them up and had a fun time doing it! ;)

    Love,
