We rarely go on car rides. And when I say rarely, It’s probably even less than that. The last time we went was a 6 hour drive to the Mountains back in September. My kids just aren’t used to riding for long periods in the car, and that makes for a really long ride. “Are we there yet?” “How much longer?” and times that by about 5 million!
Monday we found out that Ben’s Granny was in the hospital. She lives about 1 1/2 away from us on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. So we crammed into the van {all 8 of us!} and I silently prayed the kids would behave. It turned out to be a lot of fun! To get there, you drive over the 20 mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
It was fun to see Granny. She hadn’t seen Parleigh since the day she was born.
Parleigh with her Great Grandma
Check out that belly! She is growing so much!
The kids were so mesmerized by all the magazines. Go figure!
We had just missed the beautiful part of the sunset. Literally by minutes. It was still gorgeous going over the bridge while the sun was fading in the sky.
