So, apparently, I haven't blogged in a while. For one thing, I don't know what would give you that impression. For another thing, cut the girl some slack! Goodness! ♥
One reason I have disappeared from the blog world is my camera is in a funk. It doesn't want to take pictures. It begs me to sit on the shelf so it can collect dust. Instead of me fighting with it, I let it have it's way. You gotta pick your battles, right?
And honestly, who wants to read a blog that doesn't have any pictures? {besides my sister Beth?} Not ME!
So, what have the Lineberry's been doing in the past month that I haven't updated?
1. We went and visited my sister Peggy's family in Ohio. A ten hour drive turned into a 12 hour drive. And a new tire. But it was a blast, and I would do it again in a heart beat!
2. My mom drove back with us from Peggy's house and stayed for another 2 weeks. It was so much fun to spend time with Grandma Fe. The boys and Paisley love her so much!
3. I had a quarterly Enrichment Meeting to finish planning....it was a few days after Mom left. Talk about leaving the last touches to the last minute. Everyone said it turned out nice. Either they were lying...or you know. They probably were being nice! :)
4. Christmas came way too fast. I thought I was on top of things, but I was getting gifts in the mail at the last minute, and my neighbor's treat plates out the door on Christmas Eve. Next year I WILL BE PREPARED! And I will do cards next year.
5. I can't believe it's already 2010. We celebrated Parker's 4th Birthday yesterday. It's been 4 years since he was born. HOLY COW! We had a little party for him. A "camping" themed party. It was really cute...but I didn't take pictures. And since I have a hard time describing things, I'm not going to try to confuse you! :) On Sunday we are going to have a family dinner in celebration of his birthday. My baby boy is so grown up!
That's about it. I guess I can say that Preston is officially potty trained. Completely. I was afraid if I wrote about it, I would jinx it. But, he's been officially going in the pot since before Thanksgiving! He says, "I'm a big boy. Go poop in potty." You're right, Preston. You are a big boy!
I apologize for not blogging. And now I apologize for being so boring with my post! :)

I ♥ Baby Tailyn!!
About a month ago, my sister-in-law came to visit. It was so much fun to see her again, and to meet my new little niece! The boys absolutely loved baby Cailyn, or as Preston says, "Baby Tailyn". Preston could not get enough of her. He was always hugging her, kissing her, and talking about her. "I love baby Tailyn." "Kiss baby Tailyn?" "Love her!"

Preston was so sad when they had to leave! He keeps asking, " See baby Tailyn?"
For Thanksgiving we are going to Peggy's house to visit. Parker is excited to go see the deer {because his Aunt Peggy told him 2 years ago that deer come into their backyard}, and Preston is excited to see baby Tailyn {because Peggy's daughter's name is Emily, and Pres can't quite differentiate between "Aunt" Emily and "Cousin" Emily!"}. I keep trying to tell him, and he gets upset if I say that baby Cailyn won't be there! I'm sure he will remember who cousin Emily is right away and have a BLAST with her!
Ben's friend gave Paisley a baby doll for her birthday. Right when Preston saw it, he said, "Baby Tailyn?" I guess he has taken ownership of it, and she is now officially named "Baby Tailyn." {We probably should call her Cailyn, but oh well! Sorry, Emily!} I overheard Parker and Preston playing the other day:
Parker: Do you want to give her a shower, Pres?
Preston: Yes. Shower.
Parker: Let's take her to the store.
Preston: Baby Tailyn. Store.
Parker: Do you what to nurse her?
Preston: No
Parker: Do you want to feed her?
Preston: Yes.
It is way too cute! Emily, we miss you! You need to come visit us again!

Happy Halloween!
Monday, November 16, 2009
Dear Paisley,
Happy Birthday! I apologize for not celebrating your birthday on the actual day, but you see, we didn't have any power. The day before we had a Nor' easter blow through. It was rainy. And windy. And pretty miserable. It was probably a good thing that we didn't plan to have you're party that day. Also, Preston wasn't feeling very well. He had a high fever and was up all night. We never did check his temperature until a few days later, and at that point it was 102.2 degrees. His fever finally broke at 2am on Sunday morning. I stayed home from church on Sunday with you and Preston. You felt a little warm, and I knew what was soon going to happen. We planned your party for around 5:30. We invited family over for dinner {hamburger sliders} and cake. It was almost 4:30 when I realized your temperature was high, and you were beginning to get lethargic. Dad looked up on the internet and realized that the symptoms Parker and Preston had/still have pointed to the swine flu. It was so hard to see you getting sick, and I didn't want you to go through what Preston went through the past couple of days with his extremely high fever. So, Mimi came with me and we took you to the Urgent Care to see if you had Swine Flu. We were there for 2 hours. You did so well, and all the nurses fell in love with you. They loved your little birthday outfit. I held you and we waited and waited and waited for the doctor to see you, and then for them to preform a flu test {because they forgot.} The test came back negative, and the doctor was giving us instructions on how to treat the virus that you had. We were about ready to leave, when one of the nurses came in to give you her sympathy for having the flu. The doctor informed her that she must have the wrong patient, because your test results came back negative for the flu.But no. She was right. Apparently, they had put the results in prematurely, and you did, in fact, have the swine flu. Poor little girl. With a prescription for Tamiflu and instructions on alternating Motrin and Tylenol, we headed home to finish your birthday party. Everybody had eaten, so I grabbed a cold hamburger and baked beans and inhaled them down so we could open your presents. The boys were so excited to open them, and you were such a sweetheart for letting them help! You got books from Mimi and Uncle Matt; a dress, sweater, jeans, shirt, and pj's from Aunt Ester; a dress, winter coat, and shoes from Mom and Dad; a doll stroller from Mamaw and Papaw; and a pig and figurine from Grandma Dot. Your brothers were so excited to help you "learn" how to walk with the stroller, that Mimi was so kind to assemble. We then sang happy birthday to you, and helped you blow out the candle. You ate some cake, and then laid your head down and was ready to go to bed.
My sweet Paisley, I love you so much. I really hate seeing you so miserable. I pray that this illness will leave your body. You are such a beautiful baby girl. I am so blessed to have you in our family. It is hard to believe that a year ago I was bringing you home from the hospital. You have brought so much happiness into our family with your sweet spirit. I just love you so much!
Love,
Mom
My sick little birthday girl. You looked like you were absolutely miserable.

since the boys
always hog the lime light. I thought Paisley could have her own post! Albeit, she doesn't have any clothes on, but that is how she was a year ago! I can't believe my baby girl is almost a year old! This past year has pretty much been the fastest year in recorded history. I think I need to go back and check the records and see if we literally had less days each month! Honestly!
My little Sweet Pea. She brings so much happiness into our home. Her brothers just adore her. She has her dad wrapped around her little finger. And I can't get enough of her!

My sweet little girl. I just ♥ you so much! I know you were specifically chosen by our Father in Heaven to be a part of our family!

you like {spikey?}
I called my mom this evening. It was probably a big mistake. Not the calling her part, but the timing part. I had just gotten the kids in the bathtub, and was thinking I had a few minutes to spare to have some adult conversation. {I'm sure you can relate.} There is some sort of unwritten law {or maybe it is written and I haven't bookmarked it yet} of the universe that states, "The moment you start talking on the phone, it doesn't matter if your children are quietly playing in the other room, they will want your attention, and they will want it now. And, they will try anything and everything to get it!" So, Mom, I apologize. I apologize for the loud screaming. I apologize for the crying. I apologize for the sound of the bath water running mixed with the screaming and crying. I apologize for you having to repeat what we were talking about because I lost my train of thought. I apologize for you having to repeat what we were talking about because I lost my train of thought. I apologize for the abrupt, "Yeah, I should probably let you go and talk to you later...bye....click." But, you know what, I know you understand because you have been there before. And I know it wasn't a problem for you. And I know it was so good to talk to you and I realize how much I wish we lived closer. {But you are probably glad we live far apart...with my crazy hooligans!}
Ahhh....the end of the evening craziness. We have the same routine. The same routine we have had for the past 3 1/2 years. Dinner. Baths. Dressed. Books. Scriptures. Prayer. Brush teeth. Bed. Every night. The same thing. So, you would think after so. many. nights. of the same thing, they would be used to it, maybe a little. Nope. They get pretty wound up. But, tonight, I got them in bed before 8pm and they went right out!
These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago when Emily came out to visit. The boys were especially wound up because we were getting ready for some birthday cake. Ben gave them baths {yes, he is pretty much the awesomest husband ever} and then made their hair SPIKEY! They like it spikey!

fall {harvest}
The week before Halloween, we traveled out to the country to go pick "punkins" {as Preston calls them.} It was an absolute beautiful day, aside from the wind and the humidity. The punkins were grown in the field, not just hauled in and set in rows like the previous punkin patch we have gone to. The boys loved finding their perfect punkins. We were even able to ride on a hay ride.....after waiting in line for at least an hour! It was well worth the wait. {Though Parker was a little disappointed that the whole wagon wasn't filled with hay.}

poor little guy!
Preston woke us up around 3am this morning. He wasn't feeling too good. He climbed into bed with us, but then around 6am he started throwing up! Poor guy! He spent most of his day laying on the couch. The one thing that would make him feel better was to take a bath. I think he took at least 5 baths today!
At one point, I tried to at least get a shower. {Accomplished!} I was trying to get blow dry my hair, and let him soak in the tub. I kept checking on him to make sure he was okay. I wasn't gone 5 minutes....and I found him like this:
He looked so peaceful sleeping in the tub. FINALLY he was getting some rest. You know how it feels to feel miserable, right?
He slept for at least 20 minutes, until he tried to curl up into a fetal position and put his face in the water. That woke him up real fast.
On a positive note, I think he is feeling a little better. We'll see if we get any rest tonight.
I absolutely HATE getting sick, but it's even worse when my KIDS get sick! Poor little guy!

mental note:
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Yesterday
I made this soup with these pumpkin bread bowls.
If mine had turned out as pretty, I would have taken pictures!
But.....they sure did taste good!

{double} trouble
I remember having a book when I was little {my very own book--something rare when you share everything with your siblings!} It was called Double Trouble. That, now, seems to be the story of my life.
My two boys are like "monkey see, monkey do!" What one of them does, the other has to copy. Granted, they are best friends, and I am glad that they have each other. But, on the other hand, I think I am going to start pulling my hair out with all the mischief/disagreeing that they do!!
There is always two extremes. Either they are getting along and playing and having fun-so much that it brings a smile to my face and I am so content with my life. Or, they are screaming and whining, and not sharing and following me around and driving me crazy. I wish there was a happy medium. Someday, right? I hope!
Ah, I do love them. And I am so glad I have them. There is nothing else that could bring me so much joy than having my children in my life. But, I will be the first to say. It is hard! I admit it! But, as hard as it is, I love being a mother. I love each of my children. I think I understand, at least to a small degree, how much our Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally. How blessed I am to be a Mother. How blessed am I to have these three beautiful children in my life!
So, speaking of double trouble. Sorry I got sidetracked! The boys got bunk beds. They love them. They love to stay awake talking. For hours. Okay, not talking. Laughing and playing. I guess there isn't anything around that though, right? That's what they will do. Always. As much as I don't want them staying awake at night when they are supposed to be sleeping, at least they are getting along.

big green tractor revisited!
You all saw the video of Parker singing his favorite song. The other night Preston was singing it. Those two boys are too much alike, I tell you!
*Don't mind me and by beautiful duet with Preston. I had wanted it to be a solo. I'm not the best singer in the world!
*Also, you can here Parker in the background. He is actually in the living room singing at the top of his lungs.
*And don't miss Paisley trying to distract Preston by splashing and crying, but it doesn't deter Preston one bit!
