We're home, and alive!

I can't believe we are home from the hospital, and it's almost been a week since we had Paisley!
So, as you know, we named her Paisley Minette. It was hard to think of a name. Do we name her a "P" name or not? But, like Parker and Preston, it was a name we could both agree on. I also wanted to keep with family names. Parker's middle name is Benjamin. That is Ben's middle name. (His first name is Claston.) Preston's middle name is Joseph. That is my dad's name. And Paisley's middle name, Minette, was my great grandmother's name.

Everything was perfect with the delivery. Except the fact that I had to drink this nasty drink to to settle my stomach before surgery. I was hoping I wouldn't have to take it. (If that is the WORST thing about having a baby, then I think I am doing pretty good!) Ben actually captured me drinking it on video, but, I will not be posting it. (A) It is is rather embarrassing. and (B) it took me FOREVER to drink it. Probably about 10 minutes to get the nerve to drink it down. It's only about a shot glass full, but is extremely foul tasting. Anyway, too much information.
I'm not sure if you want to see Paisley being born or not, but for those of you who do, here it is! :) Don't worry, it's not graphic. You get to see more of my face than anything. I just really wanted to have on video her first cries. And as you can hear, there weren't very many. She sounded like a little duck! :)

Here's Paisley sleeping peacefully. That is how my baby is. She only nursed maybe 4 times for the first 24 hours. She wouldn't wake up! She is now nursing about every 3-4 hours. And then goes right back to sleep!
She is SO tiny! Here are her hands and her feet:

This was her going home outfit:

Do I look like I've been in the hospital for 3 days? I was ready to go home and get some rest!

Parker and Preston, for the most part, are doing so good with her. They love their baby sister, and are constantly giving her kisses. Parker wanted to take a picture of her:
We gave her her first bath this afternoon. Her hair was getting pretty greasy. Once we washed it, it kinda dried all spiky! She is such a doll!

Can I just say how hard it is to take newborn pictures? They always scrunch their noses and close their eyes for the pictures! :)

Paisley is such a blessing! She is a sweetheart. So far she is a good sleeper. And she seems pretty content.

  2. She is BEAUTIFUL!!! I absolutely love here hair, and her scrunched little nose. Congratulations!!! You look great, by the way. If I looked THAT good in the hospital after having kids, I think I'd keep having them...good thing that not what we base having our children on though! :)
