We had been looking forward to our week at the beach house all summer long! We had a blast last year {here and here} and the year before! This time around we invited the Conner family along to keep us company!
Can I just say….We had a BLAST! The kids {all 8 of them!!!} played hard, slept harder, and us adults were able to get some “game playing” time in!!
I’ll let most of the pictures speak for themselves! {Robin and I took over 300 pictures…it was hard to narrow it down!}
And we’re off! A 2 hour car ride isn’t so bad!
We stopped to get some delicious watermelon and cantaloupe from a roadside stand! {It’s tradition!}
Nags Head…here we come!!!
We had a pow-wow to lay some ground rules {like, not knocking over the seashell filled glass lamps!} and then sent the kids up to bed.
…..so that we could play some games!! {Crazy adults!}
We got to sleep super late…and woke up super early to some little kidlets too excited to sleep! Robin and I decided to go “running” and got back in time to get the rest of the stuff together to head to the beach! :)
There is NOTHING like having your husband pick you up and throw you into the cold water! Just saying!
The little kids loved playing in the sand:
Parleigh loved dumping sand on me!!
The husbands loved imitating “Swamp Thing.” {Disgusting!!!}
Mmmm….nothing like a “sandy” lunch!
My husband’s pretty hot, if I do say so myself!
The men played paddleboard for quite a while. And they were pretty dang good at it too! {Ben convinced me to play with him for a bit…and I was TERRIBLE at it…and there were some pictures taken, but you REALLY don’t want to see that! ECK!}
Enjoying our after dinner dessert….Klondike Bars! Yum! They just melted WAY too fast!!
Ben and I woke up before the crack of dawn {literally!} to watch the sunrise! It was gorgeous! I just wish I could have figured out how to capture the true colors of the sunrise! Oh well….these will do!
The kids were a bit more subdued the second morning. All they needed was some donuts to energize them!
Ben dug a BIG hole….
We had SUCH a blast! What a way to spend our last days of summer! {Only 17 more days until school starts! Eek!} They kids played and swam and boogie boarded and played and ate. The adults played and swam and boogie boarded and played and ate and talked and talked and sat back with our toes in the sand and just watched.
What a great week!
A special thanks to the Conner family for enduring spending time with us! It was awesome!
Looks so fun and pretty! :)
