Botanical Gardens

With only  2 weeks {now only 1} left of summer vacation, we were hoping to spend every day at the waterpark. Boy were we in for a surprise…and not a good one! The weather has turned cold {low 80’s…I know, right?} and cloudy and rainy. We haven’t been since before our trip to Nags Head! Bummer!

We were going to go on Friday, but once again, we woke up to an overcast sky. Ben’s friend invited us to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, and it was a perfect day for that!

I haven’t been in years, it was Ben’s first time, and I think Parker’s only been when he was a little baby! We.had.fun!

We went for a nature hike:

We climbed a crepe myrtle:

We attempted a family picture:

We stopped the world from spinning:

We ran through some water:

We pumped some water:

We made pirate hats:

We fed some turtles:

We caught some turtles:

And raced some turtles:

We steered the ship:

And played on the pirate ship:

We hung out in the USS Constitution:

It was a great day! {Now I just need to convince Ben to get us a membership so we can go more often!}
