'Tis the Season! :)
Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Wrapping paper. I used to not care about how my presents were wrapped. But now, it is an obsession, if not a stress! My sister-in-law wraps all her presents perfect, and for some reason, I feel a little incompetent when it comes to placing my presents under the tree. They now need to be wrapped perfect.
Real tree or Artificial?
This year, artificial. Last year, real! We went to a tree farm and chopped it down ourselves. It was a little homely, but it was OURS! This year it was easier to get an artificial one, and it is small so it doesn't take up our whole room.
When do you put up the tree?
If it was up to me, it would be up all year! :) But, we normally put it up the day after thanksgiving. I love decorating for the holiday.
Do you like eggnog?
Can I say, "Yummo"? I love eggnog, but just thinking about it I think I gain 10 lbs! It's yummy watered down with a little Sprite. Is that weird?
Favorite gift received as a child?
Ummm....I don't really remember. I remember in highschool I got two stereos: from Beth and my parents. They both figured I deserved them after all my tragedies my junior year!
Easiest person to buy for?
Parker and Preston.
Hardest person to buy for?
My mother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ester. What do you give someone who has everything they need/want?
Do you have a nativity scene?
3, actually. One real one. I fabric tree with the nativity scene ornaments, and the Little Peoples Nativity. SO cute!
Mail or email Christmas cards?
Mail. I love making homemade cards! :) A whole lot of work, but so much fun!
Worst Christmas gift you every received?
I never got any bad gifts...but I think Pam and Penny have! :)
Favorite Christmas movie?
The Polar Express.
When do you start shopping for Christmas?
I started way early this year, because I was planning not being overwhelmed with having a newborn. But...I still need to get a few last minute gifts.
Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Yes, but only because I had 2 of them! :)
Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
EVERYTHING! I can't wait for a turkey dinner!
Lights on the tree?
Only white lights. I can't stand colored lights.
Favorite Christmas song?
Christmas is NOT Christmas without: The Beach Boys and John Denver and the Muppets. Thanks, mom! :)
Travel at Christmas or stay home?
I'm such a homebody. I am glad family is coming to visit this year. We kinda travel...3o minutes to Ben's parents house for Christmas eve and spend the night out there!
Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Is it really that hard?
Angel on the tree top or a star?
A star, because of lack of anything else. I WOULD like to inherit the angel from our tree growning up!
Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Always in the morning.
Most annoying thing about this time of year?
Scrooge-y people! Come on people, Christmas is the BEST time of the year!
Favorite ornament theme or color?
I love glass balls. Any color. If only they wouldn't break....
Favorite time for Christmas dinner?
Doesn't matter
What do you want for Christmas this year?
Okay, do you really want to know?
My wish list:
sewing machine
cricut cartriges
clothes: shirts, and pants and skirts (i've been prego for so long...i want some real clothes that fit!)
crest white strips
photoshop
a nice camera
piano lessons
a scrapbooking table
Okay, now that I think of it, my list doesn't seem that long, and I really don't need any of it...but, if you want to, you can always suprise me! :)
i canNOT believe you had/took the time to do this, but I'm glad you did!! It was fun to read ... and I hope Santa is good to you this year, Kate!
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun one!!! I did it, too, and it took some time, but I liked it...and reading them is SO fun!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope Santa is good to you, too! It's fun to get things you 'want' instead of 'need'. :) Someday we'll be able to do that! :) LOL!
That was fun to read your christmas comments. But I'm not giving you piano lessons! j/k. Maybe some day when I'm not pregnant and cranky! ha ha. And that was your head in the picture! See! I was including you on Friday night! But I was sad I didn't see ya, and Debi can vouch for me that I kept saying "Where is Kate?" So I was thinking about ya! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, Kate. I wish I had more of a list like yours. I guess I just went for the practical things, because hey, I'm going to get them anyway, eventually.
ReplyDeleteI brought in my John Denver and the Muppets cd to work, and they only let me listen to it ONCE!!! For some reason, my co-workers find it annoying. I think the kids enjoyed it, but well, you gotta make the grown ups happy, right?
ReplyDeleteHey Kate, I got your card today. Ok, I am so not worthy. The things you come up with, wholy cow. Just amazing. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I was wondering where my card was. =) Now I know you just wanted to make me feel special and give it to me personally! I'm special that way.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, little sister, and I'll be seeing you probably Saturday (Jody wants to spend the night in Richmond tomorrow night, I'll drive on through on Saturday with Tansy.. I get to meet his Dad/stepMom/siblings.)
