Vay-Cay Part 6

I really wanted Beth to experience all of Virginia Beach. I racked my brain trying to come up everything that I do here in Va Beach. We ran out of time!
I love sushi. And that was a MUST! I think Beth enjoyed it!

The aquarium. It was packed, but it was worth it! The boys loved it!

We had an impromptu water balloon fight. This is what summer is all about, right?

I always tell  Beth that I won’t even CONSIDER moving Pocatello unless they get a Chick-fil-A and Target and Old Navy. I don’t think she’s ever eaten at Chick-fil-A before. We went through the drive-thu, ate it at Mt. Trashmore, played for a bit, and then got into our cars right before it started pouring down rain! Then headed back to Chick-fil-A for some ice-cream! Yummo!

I’m pretty sure the same guy who carved this Indian carved one that they have in Idaho Falls. :)

I think this is IT for pictures. We had so much fun with Beth and her family. I hope she’ll plan more trips out here to Virginia. My boys had fun playing with their cousins. And I had fun hanging out with my sister……there are too many miles between Virginia and Idaho!

Blackberries

Ben suggested that instead of going to the waterpark today, we should go and pick blackberries. I was game…..but on our way out was kind of skeptical: it was hot and it would have been perfect for us to spend time in the water.
This was the best.day.ever! It was hot. And humid. But, it was totally worth it. It was our first time picking blackberries. And it was a blast! The bushes were thornless! AWESOME! Plus, there were a TON of red berries, which means we can go pick more in the next couple of weeks.

We then decided to pick some corn! 24 ears of corn for $6. You can’t beat that. And, you can’t get any fresher! :)

We all deserved a Slurpee after all that berry picking!

So, what do you do with 15 pounds of blackberries?
Make blackberry jam, of course!

And blackberry cobbler!

What a fun day! THIS is what it’s all about! There is nothing like spending with family!!
{And, thank you, Donna, for letting us come destroy your kitchen. And for helping us make jam and cobbler. And feeding us dinner. And bathing the kids. You are the best!}
