Day 7 of 31: Snail Mail

A few weeks ago Pam aka Mimi sent the kids letters. They were sooo excited to receive mail, and carried the letters around for days.

On a side note, today I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. {and you can probably hardly even tell!} Saturday my friend and I are throwing a baby shower for a friend of ours, and I am super excited! It gives me an excuse to really get my house clean! :) I love planning parties.....and I'll take lots of pictures of the fun-ness we are going to have!

Day 6 of 31: Imagination

With the cooler temperatures, I am finally able to send the children out to play. It's nice having the backyard sorta fenced in, and a kitchen window I can constantly look out to keep an eye on the boys while I am cooking dinner. Paisley gets left out a lot, I make her stay inside. But, as long as the boys will keep an eye on her, and she follows the rules, she can go outside and play with them.

Rules:
Stay in the backyard
Don't go in the front yard
Play nice
Either stay outside or stay inside....not both

Simple enough, right? And, they follow them, too. {Cross my fingers that I didn't just jinx myself}

October marks the start of deer season. As you all well know, my husband is an avid hunter/fisher. Each year I am able to tolerate it more, since the kids are getting easier to take care of on my own. Reason being, as I am getting dinner on the table.....the kids are cranky...bathtime.......dishes.......bedtime......all by myself when I know my husband is out in the woods, let's just say it's easier to do all of that when I know he's working! :)

Ben has passed on his love of hunting down to his two little boys. Everything revolves around hunting. And when I say everything, I seriously mean everything! They are constantly asking to watch hunting movies. {Before I met Ben, I didn't know they existed, let alone people would actually buy them and watch them.} Yesterday while Ben was out in the woods, the boys put on their "hunting" clothes, got their hunting backpacks, grabbed their guns and bows, and headed up to the "tree stand" {aka the play houses} to shoot either a turkey or a deer. They played outside for almost 2 hours. Tonight, Parker once again informed me that he wanted to go deer hunting. Same as the day before, him and his brother prepared themselves to go hunting. {Can I not get away from all of this? It's a good thing I'll have two girls, who I will turn into girly girls who will want to stay home and go shopping with me while the boys are away}

After about an hour of playing "deer hunting" Parker came inside to tell me that he has a surprise for me, but I can't look out the window until he's done. Being so excited, he can't wait to show me that he is building a fort out of logs that are in the yard. {from the branch that broke during the tropical storm/hurricane/barely a wind gust} But, since the logs were too heavy, he made an airplane instead.

When I came out to take a picture, Paisley snuck outside, without shoes on, and she couldn't have been happier. As you can tell by the boys being slightly bundled up, the weather is kinda chilly, and Paisley should be wearing more clothing--since she's the one who has a runny nose right now. Go figure. {That's what happens when you are the third child}

Each day is so crazy. From moments of pure joy, to frustration, to blah! But, I am so thankful I get to stay home with these three kids, despite how hard it sometimes is. I asked Preston if he knows that I love him. His response? "Yes, Mom." "Well, Preston, how do you know that Mom loves you?" "I just do." I think that is all that matters.

Day 5 of 31: Bread Bowls

I can honestly tell you that Parker has been asking me for the past 365 days when can we have bread bowls for dinner. I kept telling him, "Not until it gets cold again." Last year I made these, he loved them, and even ate the soup that I made. That was the first time he ever ate soup. I made him promise that if I made the bread bowls again, he would HAVE to eat the soup. He was ecstatic! :)




Yes, these bread bowls kinda resemble a pumpkin. {and they are supposed to} Which is why I think Parker thinks they are so cool!

Instead of the soup I was going to make, Ben convinced me to make white bean chicken chili. It's the first time attempting it, let alone attempting making chili. The verdict? He LOVED it. Even Parker loved it. Preston--he ate enough so he could eat some bread. And Paisley? Let's just say, since she wouldn't eat any chili, she didn't get any bread. I'm a little stubborn. And it was PB&J for her.

My other children were pretty boring in their ultrasounds. But not this little girl. Granted, the pictures aren't that great, but she was literally waving her hand back and forth, and then she started to suck her thumb. It was super cute!

Now we get to start narrowing down the "P" girl names. How fun! :)

too cool for school part 2

Yeah!

In case you didn't get the memo, I am indeed pregnant! :) This will make four crazy kids running around our house. Six seats taken in our minivan. And one crazy mom!

We are super excited. If you can be super excited with a hormonal mom trying to take care of three kids and a husband. But, we are surviving. {I hope!} No, seriously. We are really excited for baby number four. Ben was probably the most excited. Granted, he doesn't have to deal with morning sickness {or all-day sickness}, an over active bladder, and being tired all the time. But, now that we are past that, this pregnancy thing doesn't seem so bad. You would think I would remember what it feels like to be prego, but apparently it's really easy to forget {or block out!}

I am 17 weeks along. Which means: baby weighs about the same amount as a turnip {5 ounces}, is 5 inches long, can move all its joints, and I am starting to feel movement! :)
I'm due on February 19, {my birthday} but we all know by now that I'll go 2 weeks before that {because of C-Section}

Here I was at 13 weeks:
I took the pregnancy test when I was in Idaho. I was so excited to come home and surprise my husband. And then our trip got extended. And I was starting to feel sick, and tired. And then my husband weaseled the news out of me. So, it wasn't a surprise. The flight home was miserable, and I was exhausted most of the summer. Bla bla bla!

We find out on the 28th what we will be having. I can't believe it's almost time for the ultrasound! Holy cow! Then we can start narrowing down names. Suggestions will be appreciated! Yes, we will go with another "P" name. How could we not.
"Let me introduce my 4 kids: Parker, Preston, Paisley, and Bob." Hummm....talk about always feeling left out!

The boys have spent plenty of time out on the boat this summer. They are quite the expert fishermen and know exactly how to behave out on the open water! I will admit, it gives me some anxiety knowing they are out there, and am always thankful when they have docked the boat and are on their way home!

that I have forgotten how to blog. What do you think? Let's see. I think that I have about 3 posts the entire summer. You would think I dropped off the face of the planet. Either that, or my life is extremely boring with all the mundane things that go one that I don't want to bore you. I think it's the latter.

I have:

*already put up my fall decorations, even though the temperature is still hovering around 90 degrees.

*been the tooth fairy 3 times, count that 1-2-3 times this summer. Parker has already lost 3 teeth!

*drug out the little potty in hopes that Paisley will soon be potty trained. No such luck so far.

*survived our first {hurricane that's been downgraded to a tropical storm if even that} of the season. Only one tree limb fell on our tree house and busted the roof and ruined some planks on our fence.

*attended the annual Lineberry Family Reunion this past weekend. The kids had a blast enjoying the fresh mountain air. And I didn't even see any mullets at the flea market!

*enjoyed a week at Nags Head with Peggy and her girls. SO MUCH FUN! Only 2 blocks from the beach. Who's coming next year?

*fallen in love with my new computer. enough said.

*committed to doing a Multi-Vendor Event. I'm extremely nervous. I've ordered a bunch of Scentsy products to keep in stock. And everybody needs to support me. The Event is called "Shop for the Cure." There will be 7 different vendors, including me. 10% of proceeds go towards the American Cancer Society. It will be on the 18th of September. I'll get a "party" set up on my website so if you can't attend, you can still support the cause! :) And in any case--treat yourself to some SCENTSY! I am in love with all the new fall scents. And you need to check out the Scentsy Buddy! Too cute!

*spent all the money I had planned to use to buy a new camera. {actually, I spent if buying stock for the Event coming up!} Every day Preston is asking me to take a picture of him. I feel so bad when I say, sorry, hun! Our camera is broken. Some day soon---if you all buy some Scentsy! Hint....hint!

Anyway. Like I said. Pretty mundane things going on around here! But, I'll keep you posted if something EXCITING comes up, k?

When we missed our flight home, Beth and I brainstormed on how we should spend my week and a half that we now had.
1. Bear Lake
2. Yellowstone
3. Rock quarry where my brother works

Well, we made it to Bear Lake. On the way home Beth said, and I quote, "I never want to be in the car with your boys again." The 1 1/2-2 hour drive there wasn't fun with Parker literally asking every 2 miles, "How much longer? Are we there yet?"

Bear Lake is absolutely beautiful. {I still love the ocean more}, the kids had a lot of fun, and the famous raspberry shakes were AWESOME!

{We ended up spending the rest of my week and a half hanging out at Beth's house. Not going to Yellowstone, or the rock quarry, or anywhere with all of us in the same car again!}

Wednesday was a busy day for us! Probably the busiest we've had since we got back from Idaho. We got ready early and headed up to Williamsburg or Williamsburger as Parker calls it to go and visit the Yankee Candle Store. The boys were able to talk to Santa Claus who is on vacation right now and write their names on the "good list." Parker has been telling us for the past few days "I am ate up with guns!" Seriously, the boy is! So, it wasn't a big surprise when the boys wanted to purchase these nice guns!




Convincing them that they don't need $30 rubberband guns, we headed to Snow-to-Go, for some shaved ice. I had heard it was the best, but wasn't that impressed. Rita's is just as good, if not better!

IT IS SO STINKIN HOT HERE! Holy cow! Almost too hot to go outside! But, the boys convinced me to fill up some water balloons. They had a mini water fight! :)

Ben had the hose out filling up the kiddy pool, and started soaking Paisley. Here she is RUNNING from the water:

We then headed out on Papaw's boat to go catch some bait. It was mine and Emily's first time out on the boat. The water was very smooth, yet you could still hear me scream when the boat started going fast over the little waves! I'm such a wimp!


We caught PLENTY of bait for the men to use on their fishing trip the next day. It was fun to be able to just throw the line out and have fish bite right away! My kind of fishing!

It was hot, humid, but kinda pretty when we came into the docks!
Like I said, the menfolk went out fishing all day yesterday. I stayed home with the kiddos. Emily kept the kids occupied all day. I will be forever grateful to her. I spent most of the day on the couch with a migraine. It finally let up sometime last night. I am praying I don't' get another one today!

Ben said it was the best day fishing they have had in a LONG time! The water was perfect. The fish were biting. They caught theirr limit of Flounder and Spade fish. Correct me if I am wrong, Ben, but I am pretty sure they caught all the Spade Fish by spear fishing them. You know, with a snorkle on, diving in the water with a spear on their arm. Seriously. He was pretty excited about it!

So, because of the NICE bait we caught for the guys, here are the REWARDS!
