busy busy busy!

We loaded the car on Thursday and traveled 6 hours to Fries, Va to attend the Lineberry Family reunion. The reunion was on Saturday, so we had Friday to explore the Hillsville flee market. Let me say just one word--Redneck! Honestly, I have never seen so many mullets in my life! :) We weren't able to stay too long because the boys could only take so much. About 2 hours worth and they were DONE!

The house we stayed at in Fries was just up the hill from the New River. It was so beautiful there. Ben was able to go running in the morning on the New River trail. When he got back the first morning of running, he said that he was thankful he is able to run, just so he could experience that.

There was a little park right by the river.
I forgot that the playgrounds now-a-days don't have teeter totters. It just goes to show how old this town/park is. Parker had so much fun teeter-tottering! :)

Parker's Papaw went fishing while we were at the park. We got down to the river just in time for Parker to catch a fish!

On Saturday {the day of the reunion}, we met up with the all the Lineberry's where Benji's dad and brothers attended school. It was a little one room school building. We were able to catch up on all the happenings and have some good eats!

There were horses in a field right next to the school that Parker and Preston couldn't get enough of. You would think I deprive my children by living here in the city!

Parker LOVES bugs. He is {thoughtfully} looking at a butterfly that landed by our blanket:

And he found a fuzzy caterpiller:

For some reason, my boys love posing in the bathtub. Don't ask me why, but Parker is SERIOUSLY posing in this picture!

It was a lot of fun to get away for a few days. We came home Sunday afternoon. It really was a quick trip. Parker got so EXCITED when he saw the mountains for the first time! :) I can't wait till we can go home to Idaho and fly into SLC and for him to see THOSE mountains! :)

It was just absolutely beautiful up there. It is so green. And so peaceful. Living here in Va Beach, life is always just GO GO GO! It was nice to relax {as much as possible with two boys} for a minute and enjoy the fresh air!

why can't my boys just sit still....

....so I can take their picture? My mother-in-law brought over some baby girl clothes this afternoon...and Parker and Preston loved the hats. Granted, they are newborn beanies, and they are pink, and they don't even like hats, but they had to wear these hats. Thank goodness there were two! :) Oh well, they had fun. They are two extremely goofy boys, who wouldn't sit still so I could take a decent picture.

I know I'm cute!

I may have a big head, but this hat is gonna stretch to fit it!

Just a little too close to the camera, Preston!

My baby sister doesn't need a hat! This one is MINE!

There's my cheesy boy!

Staying busy

We've been trying to stay busy this past week. My van was in the shop Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so we had to be creative. Tuesday we walked to the neighborhood park, which is about 1 mile away. It wasn't too hot, yet. )

Preston climbing the "big boy" toy

Parker is a "monkey"!

Preston thinking about going down. He better not!

Yesterday we took a trip to the Zoo. We went around 10am, before it got hot, and surprise surprise, the animals were out! Normally when we go, most of them are sleeping or hiding from the heat. The boys had such a great time seeing all the animals.
Parker was saying "Take a picture of this, Mommy!"

"Mimi" and Preston looking at the lions. All 3 of them were out!

Preston pointing to the Love Birds

The Giraffes kept coming really close. It was so neat!

Parker climbed up on the fence all by himself, and was SO proud of himself!

Last night was scrapbooking. I finished one page. It's been a while since I have actually scrapbooked a page for an album. I also changed up my blog design. It was fun, but if it is any indication to how digital scapbooking is, I think I will stick with "paper" scrapbooking!

Golf, anyone?

Preston was sporting his "golfing" hat on Sunday. I loved it when Parker wore this hat, and I LOVE it that Preston shows off for the camera when he wears it, too! :) He is such a chunky, cute, little guy!

*****************************************************************************************
Today was a beautiful day. Ben was off work, and we spent the day hanging out with the boys. The boys stayed outside most of the afternoon playing in the pool and running around the yard. You would think they would be tired out after a day in the sun, but not even close. They were so wound up tonight. Ummm...maybe it was the cake and ice cream and balloons in celebration of Pam's birthday that made them pretty hyper! :)

looky looky, what do we have here?

This afternoon, I was randomly changing Preston's dirty diaper in the trunk of our van, and I found this pen. (Okay, it wasn't so random. We were out in public, and I didn't want to use the nasty bathrooms' changing table!) Any way, it's not just ANY pen, it is my niece's High School Musical pen that her Aunt Pam bought for her. That I would NEVER buy, because I know how annoying battery operated singing pens can get after 30 seconds! I can't believe Emily made it back home without it! She would play it OVER and OVER and OVER again. Parker and Preston absolutely loved it, as you can see. Parker has the song memorized, as does my husband. And Preston? Well, he likes to dance to it! :) Enjoy!

Sorry, Emily! I didn't realize til now that we had the pen! I will send it back, for a small fee! Or maybe for free...your mom would LOVE it!

someday i will be a photographer

but until then, I will let my brother-in-law take the photos for me! We went to a local park a couple of weeks ago, and Matt came along and took pictures. I will tell you why they are so great.

1. Matt is an awesome photographer
2. My kids are so stinkin' cute! :)

This will probably be the last time we go to this park. A few days later, Ben and I took the kids there, and we heard some rustling in the bushes. Ben went to check it out, and there were 2 cottonmouth water moccasins fighting over a fish. These are VERY aggressive snakes, very territorial, and right next to where we were throwing rocks in the water. Kinda scary! Needless to say, we will go to another park from now on!
On a happier note, we really did have a lot of fun playing at the park. They loved throwing the rocks in the water, especially Preston (when he wasn't trying to EAT the rocks!)

A museum for children?

Apparently, when I first heard about the Children's Museum in Portsmouth, I can't really remember what I expected. Maybe a museum full of wax children. I don't know. But, it is so much fun for the boys. There is a "little town" where they can drive different vehicles. There is a play area, bubbles, building blocks, a huge train area, ect. We went today, and I wasn't stressed out for once! I think it's because Parker is getting older, and actually will listen to me, and I wasn't having to chase him around everywhere! Now that I am able to control 2 kids...we are going to have another one! :)
I thought I got more pictures than I actually did. But, anyway, enjoy the few moments (like 3) I captured on film. (Can I even say that anymore? Technically it isn't film !)

Parker driving the firetruck with Aiden and Preston

Preston hitching a ride on the back of Parker's motorcycle

Waiting at the "bus stop". Check out those cute alligator shoes!

And just so you all know......I pretty much dress them alike EVERY day! People are always asking if they are twins. Do they LOOK like twins?

Monkey See, Monkey Do

During dinner , Preston kept watching Parker, and mimicking what he was doing. If Parker was dipping his quesadilla in ranch, Preston would do the same. If Parker stated eating his cantaloupe, Preston would do the same. It was CRACKING me up!

Twilight Parties, midnight book run, and sick little boys!

What an eventful week! It has really flown by really fast, hence the reason I haven't blogged ALL WEEK! I was getting ready for my Twilight party. I know, I am such a nerd, but luckily I was able to round up other fellow Twilight nerds to come and have some fun with me! :)

It was so much fun. The invitations were totally scraplifted, but when I saw them, I KNEW I had to throw a party! We had fondue and played games, talked about the books, and even had a quiz. So much fun!
Friday night at midnight, a group of us were in line at Barnes and Noble to pick up the new book.
I know, we are total geeks! But, I am finished with it, and I can say, it was VERY VERY GOOD! :) I need to reread it, because....when you are trying to read with two little boys running around, it is hard to take it all in! It has been SO MUCH FUN looking forward to something...almost like Christmas. Speaking of Christmas...can't wait until Dec. 12th!

And then, as if this weekend wasn't eventful enough, Parker and his Papaw got food poisoning. At least, that is what we figure it was. The only thing different that was eaten by anybody this weekend, was fish at Cracker Barrel...by Parker and Benji. And they both got really sick. Saturday morning I woke up to Parker's bed covered in vomit, and his nasty yucky diaper had completely leaked all over. (I think that is enough said!) And then this morning, no vomit, but his diaper leaked AGAIN. So, the mattress is outside, and we are buying him a new one tomorrow! :) I just can't get the smell out! Yuck.

Oh, I think I found a crib bedding set that I like. I want something VERY girly, so....tell me what you think!
It's from Target.
